This niche generates $264 million worth of products, 60% of which are exported. Alberta companies are making and maintaining the Canadian Forces' communications systems, software, specialized sensors, and other electronic components used in military applications. Defence electronic companies are well positioned to exploit opportunities in other niches and industry sectors as well, including the space industry and the oil and gas sector.
