TRTech's 30 Years of Innovation Excellence Comes to a Close (TRTech, June 2, 2016). After nearly 30 years, TRTech (formerly TRLabs, 1986-2012) is ceasing operations as a pan-prairie information and communication technology (ICT) innovation organization effective May 31, 2016.
According to the cooperation agreement between the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) and the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology of Spain (CDTI), the R&D joint activities between both entities will be performed under the rules and procedures of the multilateral initiative EUREKA, where both countries are members.
Within this framework, participants from both countries are invited to submit joint project proposals for collaborative industry-led R&D projects aimed at creating new products, processes and services for civilian applications.
Phase 1: Expression of Interest will be accepted immediately and up to and including October 16, 2015.
Phase 2: EUREKA Project Applications will be accepted following and approved EOI up to and including November 30, 2015.
This call welcomes applications in all technological areas. However, special priority will be given to proposals of the following domains:
- Ocean Research
- Life Sciences
- ICT to Health
- Mining Technology
The Canadian partner should be a SME entity (under the Canadian definition) which may be on technologically and scientifically assisted by a non-industrial entity (eg: university research institute etc). The Spanish and Canadian partners must express their will to cooperate, on an equal basis, to the development of a new product, industrial process or service. The product, process or service must be innovative and there must be a technological risk involved. The project must be equally significant for both participants. New Round of Application for the Outbound Soft Landing Program for Canadian ICT Companies to access global markets, Nov 10-26, 2014 – Canadian Digital Media Network
The CDMN Outbound Soft Landing program helps Canadian companies discover and reach new markets. Qualified, mature startups and small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) take residence in a partnered facility that offer the regional support required to help grow their business.
Successful candidates of the Outbound Soft Landing program will receive up to $4,000CDN in reimbursable expenses to help offset travel and hotel stay costs. Companies landing at partnered business accelerators will also have the costs associated with their desk space and services covered by CDMN for up to three months. Both the location and the specific landing facility are always determined by the startup and SME, based on market pull and the needs that the company is seeking to fulfill in that economy.

(September 2014) International business opportunities abound on new CME site for all industry sectors Enterprise Canada Network designed to connect Canadian companies with international business opportunities. Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME), in partnership with Export Development Canada (EDC), has launched a website designed to connect Canadian companies with international partners seeking matching products and services. The Enterprise Canada Network is geared towards small- to medium-sized companies, which often face challenges trying to find time to develop business opportunities and not knowing where to look for them. The network will allow businesses and researchers in Canada to search for a business or technology partner amongst the more than 30,000 opportunity profiles posted through the European Commission’s Enterprise Europe Network.
