Alberta had the highest labour force participation rate among the provinces at 73.1% in 2013, 6.6% higher than the national average of 66.5%. At the same time, Alberta also had the highest employment rate among the provinces, at 69.7%, and the second lowest unemployment rate at 4.6%.
