In 2007, the average individual income in the Northeast Region was $34,400, an 8.3% increase from 2006, but 19.2% less than the provincial average of $42,570 in 2007.  In the same year, average couple income¹ in the Northeast Region was $101,675, a 10.4% increase from the year before, but 19% less than the provincial average of $125,485 in 2007.

The percentage of taxfilers that reported an individual gross income over $100,000 was 6.2%, while 37.1% of taxfilers identified as couples reported an income of over $100,000.
