Transportation

Alberta has modern transportation options for your lifestyle. Our major cities and many of our smaller centres have extensive public transport systems, including bus and light-rail transit systems.

You may become licensed for and purchase a wide variety of vehicles in Alberta, including cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles. For short-term needs, you may also choose to rent a vehicle. In rural areas, recreational vehicles such as snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) may also be an option.

Long-distance travel can be accomplished in whatever fashion is most convenient for you. Calgary International Airport and Edmonton International Airport offer direct connections throughout Alberta, Canada and the world.

If you have your own vehicle, our modern highways make long-distance travel safe and easy. Bus companies also serve small and large communities all across the province. You can even take passenger trains from Alberta to destinations across Canada.
