Alberta, Canada is a multicultural society, and this is reflected in the many cultural organizations that can be found in some of Alberta's communities.

Cultural organizations can help recent immigrants to Alberta adjust and feel that home is not too far away. Having cultural connections from your homeland can help in the transition to a new culture and land.

  • Calgary Chinese Cultural Society
    Includes information about what to do before you leave for Canada, your first few days in Canada, finding a job and the Canadian way of life.
     
  • Calgary Multicultural Centre
    Promotes multicultural awareness and unity between different communities in Calgary by recognizing and valuing the strengths of Canada's cultural diversity.
     

Edmonton

  • ASSIST Community Services Centre
    Formerly Edmonton Chinese Community Services Centre. Provides a number of immigrant services, such as interpretation and translation, employment-related services, public awareness and community initiatives and a newcomers information guide.
     
  • Association for English - German Bilingual Education of Edmonton (AEGBEE)
    AEGBEE supports, promotes, and guides the German Bilingual Program at the Edmonton Public School Board
     
  • Edmonton Chinese Bilingual Education Association
    A non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to promoting the learning and understanding of the Chinese language.
     
  • Edmonton Hispanic Bilingual Association (EHBA)
    EHBA seeks to create opportunities to bring the Hispanic community together with friends from the community at large. Individuals who have, or would like to have, ties to the Hispanic community are invited to join.
     
  • Indo-Canadian Women's Association
    A non-profit organization committed to supporting newly arrived immigrants, especially sub-groups such as women, children and seniors - who may require extra assistance. Programs include services such as settlement services, career and employment counseling and literacy learning.
