Financial assistance
The Government of Alberta offers a wide range of student financial assistance programs to ensure that financial need is not a barrier to post-secondary education. Alberta Students Finance administers the Canada Student Loan Program and the Alberta Student Loan Program, as well as various scholarships, grants, and bursaries.
There are interest-free student loans available if you attend a designated post-secondary institute full time. These are only available to Canadian citizens or permanent residents. There are two sources of student loans for education in Alberta – the Government of Canada and the Government of Alberta.
