Learning more about Alberta’s doctors, clinics and hospitals is the first step. You should also familiarize yourself with our emergency services and well as other health services that extend beyond the scope of basic health services.
Most services are covered under the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan, so getting health insurance is very important once you arrive in Alberta. However, not all services are covered – in those cases you will need to pay for care.
