Home and property insurance

Your home and property need to be insured. Whether you own or rent your home, you should purchase insurance to protect your property and personal belongings.

If you own your home, you will need a homeowner’s insurance policy. Rental agreements will often require you to have a tenant insurance policy.

Insurance policies vary from one company to another. Visit a local Insurance Bureau office for more information finding an insurance policy that is suited to you or call the Consumer Information Centre at 780-423-2212 in Edmonton or 1-800-377-6378 toll-free from elsewhere in Alberta.

To get the best coverage for the lowest possible price, contact an insurance broker or ask several insurance agents for quotes. Find an insurance agent or broker near you with the Alberta Insurance Directory

You can also look under Insurance Agents and Brokers in the yellow pages of your telephone book or on the myTELUS phone book website.
