How to pay for legal services in Alberta
Lawyers can be expensive. If you cannot afford to pay, Legal Aid or law students may help you. Legal Aid provides lawyers for people who have low income. For more information, see the Legal Aid Society of Alberta.
Law students provide free legal advice or representation on less complex legal matters. For more information see Student Legal Services of Edmonton or Calgary Legal Guidance.
Eligibility for these services is based on financial need. If your income is too high, you will have to pay for your own lawyer.
