How to build and establish good credit in Alberta
You will want to establish a good credit history as soon as possible. With little to no credit history, banks will be hesitant to approve a mortgage application or student loan.
Even if you have a good credit rating in your country of origin, credit reports may not transfer to Canada because of differences in national laws governing credit reporting and information use. This means you may have to build a credit rating from scratch in Canada. Talk to your bank representative on how to obtain and maintain good credit.
