- Chronicle of Significant Alberta Architecture
The Alberta Association of Architecture, in partnership with the Government of Alberta, has produced a Chronicle of Significant Alberta Architecture, which highlights architecturally significant projects built and still in use in Alberta.
The Chronicle provides information on the project, including client, project size, cost and pictures. Many of the projects highlighted have won international awards and recognition.
- 2030 Challenge
The 2030 Challenge is a worldwide initiative aimed at significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions through sustainable architectural design and building practices.
The challenge, issued in January 2006 by Architecture 2030, a non-profit organization in the United States, calls for reduced energy consumption, and an elimination of fossil fuel energy use in all new buildings, developments and major renovations by the year 2030.
In Canada, the challenge was adopted in 2007 by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, and taken up in Alberta in the same year by Edmonton’s Manasc Isaac Architects Ltd. For more details, visit:
