Transportation
Alberta is strategically located with a central position in the growing western Canadian market of nine million people.
- Alberta has emerged as the western North American warehouse and distribution hub for Canada and the Pacific Northwest region of the United States.
- Alberta is the only western province that offers overnight (or less than 24-hour) delivery service to all of western Canada and the U.S. Pacific Northwest – a market of more than 50 million consumers.
- Alberta has direct connections to two of North America's largest highway trade corridors. This provides quick and efficient access to the very large markets in the Pacific Northwest, California and Central Canada.
- An excellent inter-modal system links Alberta to the tide-water port of Vancouver. This provides easy access to the Pacific Rim.
- There is great scope for expanded transportation of goods and people, and very little threat of congestion.
- International airports in Edmonton and Calgary have strong cargo capacities.
