Important information about applying to the AINP

Note: The new Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) takes effect June 14, 2018 and has replaced the Employer-Driven Stream and Strategic Recruitment Stream.

If your Employer-Driven or Strategic Recruitment Stream application is postmarked June 14, 2018 or earlier, your application will still be processed.

Filling out AINP forms

  • You will need at least Adobe Reader 8.1 to fill out the application forms.
  • Download our Helpful hints (PDF) to assist you in filling out the application forms.
  • Double check your mailing address and the contact information in your application form. The AINP will use this information to communicate with you regarding your application.
  • The AINP does not require the use of an immigration representative to fill out forms. See the Using an Immigration Representative webpage.

Submitting your application

Applications must be mailed to the AINP. The AINP does not accept applications by email or fax. It is recommended that you send your application by registered mail or by courier so that you can track it and confirm is has been received by the AINP.

Note: If the AINP discovers fraud or misrepresentation in an application, a candidate may be banned for up to five years from reapplying to the AINP.

Alberta Opportunity Stream
  1. Download the Alberta Opportunity Stream Document Checklist (PDF), which outlines all the forms and supporting documents needed to apply. A complete application includes all of the required documents listed on the Document Checklist. If any documents are missing, your application may be returned or declined.
  2. Send the Document Checklist, all forms and supporting documents to the AINP together in one package. The AINP does not accept applications by email or fax.
  3. Mail or courier your application and all supporting documents to:

Self-Employed Farmer Stream
  1. Download the AINP Self Employed Farmer Stream Document Checklist (PDF), which outlines all the forms and supporting documents required to apply.
  2. Send all forms and supporting documents together in one package to Alberta Agriculture and Forestry. Alberta Agriculture and Forestry will not accept applications by email or fax.
  3. Mail or courier your application to:
