International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS)
IQAS can assess your educational credentials and compare them to Canadian standards. This may increase your access to the job market, educational institutions and professional regulatory organizations.
The educational credential assessment is a key part of the federal skilled worker immigration program. These assessments can be used to increase your chances for permanent residency, under the Express Entry program.
National Occupational Classification (NOC) system
The National Occupational Classification (NOC) system defines a job according to the skills, training and experience it requires and the duties it includes. It uses four-digit numbers (NOC codes) to categorize job titles into occupational groups.
Your NOC code will determine your eligibility to apply to the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP). Watch our NOC tutorial to learn more.
To apply to the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP), you must have your educational documents, work reference letters and other documents translated into English. The AINP will accept your original French documents.
The AINP will only accept translations prepared by:
- a recognized translator in your home country
- a member of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Alberta (ATIA)
- a member of an association belonging to the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC)
