Regional Development

Alberta's 14 economic indicator regions reflect the province's distinct natural and geographical makeup, from the timeless majesty of the mountains to the wide open promise of the prairies. The natural landscape found in each region shapes the cultural and industrial makeup of that region.

The Government of Alberta shares a dynamic partnership with communities and industries throughout the province, and works to ensure continued, sustainable prosperity in each of Alberta's regions. This ongoing partnership is expressed at both the regional and community (local) level through Regional Economic Development Alliances (REDAs), and community economic development (CED) initiatives.
