Welcome to the Alberta Shanghai Office

The Alberta Shanghai Office (ASO) was established in 2010 in partnership with British Columbia and Saskatchewan to form the Western Canadian Trade Office under the New West Partnership Agreement.

It is one of four offices that together make up the Greater China Team. The other offices are:

• Alberta China Office
• Alberta Hong Kong Office
• Alberta Taiwan Office

The ASO:

• Facilitates and enhances trade and investment activities between Alberta and Shanghai companies
• Provides support to Alberta businesses in identifying opportunities in Shanghai
• Helps Alberta businesses establish partnerships with companies in the Greater China region
• Assists Shanghai-based companies to identify investment opportunities in Alberta
• Introduces Shanghai-based companies to potential partners
• Provides Shanghai-based companies with market and other investment related information about Alberta

• Consultation on local business practices and advice on language and cultural considerations for Alberta firms looking to do business in Shanghai
• Assistance in identifying potential business partners, business introductions and referrals
